Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 31, 2026
At Copa Magna we take care of your personal data. This notice explains what data we collect when you use simracingmexico.com and our WhatsApp bot, what we use it for and how to exercise your rights, under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties. The Spanish version prevails.
1. Data controller
Luis Roberto De la Garza, located at Río Lerma 142, is responsible for processing your personal data. For anything related to it, write to copamagnachamp@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
- Identification and contact: first and last name, email, profile picture, biography and country, if you choose to add them.
- Racing data: your iRacing ID, results, lap times, positions, incidents, iRating, points, licenses, penalties and your team.
- Payments: amount, date, concept and status of your payments for registrations, bundles and raffles. Stripe processes your card details directly; we never see or store them.
- Communications: incident reports, appeals and messages you send on the platform, and messages you send to our WhatsApp bot.
- Technical data: IP address and browser data, used for security and to stop automated (spam) sign-ups.
We do not collect sensitive personal data.
3. What we use your data for
Purposes required to provide the service:
- Creating and managing your account.
- Managing your registrations to championships, teams and divisions.
- Running competitions: schedules, results, classifications, standings, ranking, licenses and penalties.
- Processing payments, refunds and the use of credits or bundles.
- Sending you notices about your account, registrations, payments, races and penalties.
- Protecting the platform and preventing fraud or automated sign-ups.
Additional purposes, not required for the service: sending you the newsletter and promotions, and using your name and results in flyers and social media posts. You can opt out at any time by writing to copamagnachamp@gmail.com or using the unsubscribe link in each email, without affecting your account or registrations.
4. Information that is published
When you take part in a competition, your name, team, driver profile, results and statistics are shown publicly on the site (standings, results, ranking, champions) and may appear in Copa Magna broadcasts, flyers and social media. Your email, payments and contact details are never published.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We only share it with providers that help us run the platform and process it on our behalf:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Fly.io and Vercel, which host the site and the database.
- Cloudinary, to store images such as profile pictures, logos and flyers.
- Our email provider, to send you notices.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, to tell people from bots when you sign up.
- An artificial intelligence provider, which processes the questions you ask the WhatsApp bot in order to answer them.
With sponsors we only share general information about the league (for example, how many drivers take part), not your personal data. We may also disclose data when required by a competent authority.
6. Your rights (ARCO) and withdrawing consent
You have the right to access your data, correct it if it is wrong, delete it or object to its use, and to withdraw the consent you gave us. To do so, write to copamagnachamp@gmail.com with:
- Your name and the email you signed up with.
- A document proving your identity (or your representative’s).
- Which right you want to exercise and over which data.
We will reply within 20 business days and, if appropriate, make the change within the following 15 business days. You can correct much of your data yourself from your profile on the platform.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your contact and account data. Results of competitions you already took part in may be kept as part of the championships’ historical record, because they are part of the standings and results of other drivers.
7. Cookies
We only use cookies required for the site to work: those that keep you signed in (up to 30 days) and remember your language. The sign-up security system (Cloudflare Turnstile) and Stripe checkout may use their own technical cookies, and YouTube videos are shown in privacy-enhanced mode.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but without them you will not be able to sign in.
8. Minors
If you are under 18, you need the consent of your parent or guardian to sign up and take part. If we find data of a minor without that consent, we will delete it.
9. How long we keep your data
While your account is active and for as long as legal and tax obligations require (for example, payment records). Racing results are kept as part of the league’s history.
10. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date and, if the change is significant, let you know by email or on the platform.
If you believe your rights were not respected, you may contact the competent personal data protection authority.
